4 counts of felony tax evasion (as he took money from astragalus for about that time)
he also gets a business card from Moxie, who has of course been scheming to get rich and decided to become a lawyer cause thats where the moneys at
periwinkle is hesitant, but pastille can't represent him because he's busy that day and can't say why
they show up in court, in the jury syrup, butterscotch and pastille all sit like its parents (quietly) rooting for their teams in a elementary school sports contest
will periwinkle be sent to jail? will moxie actually have a business plan work? wait til i actually finish this to find out!

ultraviolet ghosts

or Vinegars soul split before Soirée and after remerging at some other point unrelated to marzipan (because the jam route was canon) it just kinda got stuck as a result of a spell fucking up
i have a funny fan strip idea but this might be too inappropriate
What's your favourite flavour of cake?Syrup: Bubblegum.Pastille: Strawberry!Periwinkle: stares at previous panel

"Copy pasta" is a term used to describe text that has been copied and pasted repeatedly across the internet, often as a form of humorous or sarcastic repetition. It can also refer to longer pieces of text that are reused in online discussions.
i feel like this arc is kinda just. in bad taste.
like? questionable comic involving pastille is posted. people talk about it being kinda fucked up in-universe. instead of saying anything, makes an arc trying to get everyone to feel bad(edited)
like. 3/4 in the arc has him apologizing but it immediately goes to 'the person upset about it is actually just trying to undermine pastille and doesn't actually care about it' which. the fuck ?(edited)

I don't think it's tryna say Pastille wasn't wrong for doin' it but pointin' out that people can bring up bad things from the past for disingenuous reasons is also valid
cus it was specifically Syrup bringin' it up, not even the victims in this case
Flagbearer
like. it's not because a character might've been sad, i just think generally this is a bad concept for an arc
I mean Syrup bein' the one to do it is in bad faith
18:44
it's not the criticism but the one doin' it
18:45
I mean golly go back to the comics that it stems from and right after the incident you'll see Syrup saying "Don't ban dogs, we should ban cats instead."

my issue is that in #2 it was clearly a joke but with the themes of LWT it's now able to be reinterpreted as metaphorical for racism which is then made worse with it being brought up again in a lighthearted comic
anyone who isn't trying to exploit the situation is portrayed as indifferent or against it, implying there isn't a problem because nobody actually cares(edited)

bc. assuming this is entirely a character thing, the point is 'nobody actually cares about this'. if it's a meta thing, it feels like it's portraying anyone upset as evil and wrong
Flagbearer
we're 5 parts in and currently the criticism is portrayed as arguing in bad faith
But it's not portraying people that think it was bad as wrong?
Even Periwinkle tells him to make amends because it was a bad look

i think the issue is that this is being brought up to say none of the characters care. nami isn't being held at gunpoint to make an arc out of this, she actively chose to bring back something that looks worse with the current context of the series. there's a lot you could probably say w/ it, but there isn't any of that, because the point being made is that nobody minds. why even bother bringing it up? like, in-universe there's justification (syrup is evil and shit), but you can write pretty much whatever you want. assumedly there's justification for why they're making an entire arc out of 'nobody cares about this character's past wrongdoings'
she said in the patreon that it was made to give other characters more focus iirc

The arc isn't about that "nobody cares about this characters past wrongdoings" it's about "syrup is willing to throw her best friend under the bus for fame"
