ddlc is also in renpy and there are modding guides for that
maybe i'll look into some of those and see if any of it is applicable here

the biggest thing i'm worried about is figuring out how to make it talk to the archipelago client
since besides that it's just a matter of managing save data mostly
i found a ddlc modding guide that mentions that the steam version is notoriously inconsistent with whether mods work or not
which is. concerning, regarding this

the main thing i'm worried about now is less "is modding possible" and more "is archipelago possible"
since it requires finding a way to make the game communicate with the archipelago client
i'm sure there's probably a way to make it work, but idk what renpy is capable of, so idk how hard it would be to do(edited)

i know very little about archipelago so i can't say too much about it... but if you end up getting it to work definitely let me know, that'd be cool to see!

i've mostly only messed with archipelago in the context of manuals
so i'm sure figuring that out will be. fun
but i don't think it'll be that difficult
although i'm sure figuring out the logic behind all the different endings and their requirements will be fun
(my plan is to have the player start with one random character and have to 1. unlock the other three, and 2. unlock the different behavior options)

the biggest logical complication i'm worried about is health during the tragedy battle
since i'm not sure if there's an ending threshold where it becomes impossible to win without running out
in my minimalist test run i had 12 endings by then and i could barely scrape by, but in archipelago you could technically end up there with only a single ending (maiden's true ending) if you already have all the behaviors you need from other people finding them(edited)

I've stopped keeping track, but judging based on my entries it has been 8 months since I have killed Lilium. I assumed it would free me. I assumed wrong. My theories on her true nature were correct, but I had missed one truth -- to kill a god is to become one. I now wield limitless, incomprehensible power at my fingertips - yet I am no less a prisoner than when I arrived. I sit in my throne above heaven, yet I still feel as if I sit in the deepest bowels of hell.
The ending paths have been burned into my memory. I would be able to recite it in my sleep, but I no longer sleep.
I still have not played any of Nami's other games
Hero would totes be the serious student type at school but like
if you ever see him outside of school he'd be like playin' in the park with elementary schoolers or somethin' and promptly deny it if questioned
He has the imagination game type of goober energy
that is pretty neat makeship gives badges for that! for patreon subs nami has makeship discount codes for which they did not get until a few days later so I was in the hundreds
